PROJECT PRESENTATION

LAB4SUPPLY´s MAIN OBJECTIVE is to empower agri-food smallholders in the Mediterranean agricultural systems through the DEFINITION, ENHANCEMENT and TRANSFER of competitive and efficient food SUPPLY CHAIN ALTERNATIVES that address FARMER’S capacities, CONSUMER needs and unexpected food MARKET CHANGES.

LAB4SUPPLY project is planned for 36 months and divided into 8 different Work Packages (WP) and their subsequent tasks, each focusing on a specific aspect of the project structure.

 

WP1. Diagnosis and Mapping of LAB4SUPPLY Food Supply Chains

Objective: to characterize and map the five key selected products’ current food chains, on the four participant countries (Spain, Algeria, France and Morocco).

Deep review of existing smallholder platforms in the Agri-food value chain

Mapping and Selection of stakeholders through stakeholder mapping and selection criteria

Comprehensive analysis of the smallholder context: difficulties, barriers, risks, opportunities.

Analysing the value chain price strategy and price transmission along the food chain

WP2. Sustainable Impact Assessment

Objective: to analyse and identify sustainability indicators for the different selected supply chains.

WP3. Creation of the Agri-food Stakeholders Platform (ASP) at Territorial and Mediterranean Level within the Agri-food Innovation Ecosystem (AIE) living-lab (LL)

Objective: to collect relevant information and create new contacts and synergies for all the stakeholders involved through the creation of an Agri-food Stakeholders Platform (ASP).

WP4. The Human Factor: Understanding and Influencing Consumers’ Preferences & Acceptance

Objective: to gain a deeper understanding and contextualisation of the interdependencies between socio-economic aspects of the chain issues with the aid of the case studies and the Agri-food Stakeholder Platform.

WP5. Identifying Alternatives Supply Chains: The Creation and validation of The Decision Support System (DSS) ICT Tool

Objective: to develop an ICT tool acting as a Decision Support System (DSS) for smallholders to identify the sustainable alternative food supply chain for their products.
